2016 Virginia Legislative Wrap-up

Virginia’s legislative session has concluded for 2016. Governor Terry McAuliffe is casting the passage of House Bill 1163 as one of his legacy achievements. It restores concealed carry reciprocity with 25 states terminated by Attorney General Mark Herring and mandates the state to pursue agreements with all other states that offer them. David Adams, legislative director of the Virginia Shooting Sports Association, talked with NRANews.com's Cam Edwards and commends Governor McAuliffe for making the deal and standing up to Michael Bloomberg’s withering attacks about it. He also discusses the ups and downs of HB 766, expedited concealed carry permits for those with a protective order. The governor offered an unacceptable and impractical substitute for the essential legislation.
